Lampwork and Pearl Bracelet

Today I made a bracelet - just need to make some matching earrings. I'm quite happy with how this turned out - although the pictures do not show it off very well. Made using lampwork glass beads, white glass pearl beads and crystal rondelles.

Made using seed beads, lampwork beads, cats eye cube beads and red crackle glass beads

Three strand necklace, made using crystal beads, acrylic beads and metal beads.

These two are made using swarovski crystals and moonstone beads

Again, three strand necklace, matching bracelet and earrings - a great way for using up those few "odd" beads. Made using glass beads, crystals, metal and acrylic beads.

Very easy and simple chunky necklace. Made using large black onyx beads and tibetan silver spacer beads

I'm Back

Well I can't believe it has been over 3 years since I last posted. Life has been very busy and has changed a lot in that time.

I have not done any card making for along, long time now. We now have set up our own business selling jewellery making findings, beads and other crafty bits and bobs Charming Designs dna Currently we only sell through Ebay, but we are in the process of getting our own web shop designed.

TMTA - Ophelia

This weeks challenge on Think Monday Think ATC is "Ophelia". I made this ATC the other day, but have only just found the time to blog it - still, better late than never I guess :-)

I used various papers, including K&Co, DCWV, a printed picture of "Ophelia", an orange prima flower and a little glitter glue.

Another Match Box

This is the match box with tags I made for a "Me to You" swap I'm involved in - every month we have to make something and post it off. I used distress inks, Hampton Art stamps, some script background paper, black archival ink and Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick Crystals. I tripple embossed the outside of the match box and stamped using black ink into the UT crystals, whilst they were still hot - this gives a lovely texture to the box.

Christmas Match Box

This is a match box I have altered. I used a blank match box, 4 tiny chipboard tags, distress inks, Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick Crystals and various small Christmas stamps. The match box measures 2" x 1 1/2"

I think I might have found a "new love" medallion cards - they do look so Christmassy with all the glitter.

My crafting area looks nice and Christmassy too as that and everything else seems to be covered in glitter LOL

First Design Team Card

Last Friday I received my first lot of DT goodies from One Stop Card Crafts and they included a lovely Morning Star Medallion stamp. I was busy over the weekend so I didn't get chance to use the stamp until yesterday.

As you will see there are two versions of the same card as when I first made the card I added some ribbon and then I wasn't sure about it so took it off and added snowflake brads - still not sure which I like the best.

Tag Book

This book I made for a swap I'm involved in "Me to You" and I sent this to my dear friend Claire.

The front and back covers were made using chipboard which I bought from The Artistic Stamper, they are 4" x 6". I used a brayer and a Big and Juicy birthday ink pad to colour the chipboard and then gave them a spray of gold Glimmer Mist. On the front I added a Papermania wire word Friends. I then stamped various stamps using black ink. The back cover was made in the same way and I used one of my new Tim Holtz stamps nibs.

The pages/pockets were made from a piece of A4 card, which I coloured using distress inks in various colours. Before I attached the covers to the concertina pages/pockets I added some blue ribbon so the book could be kept closed.

The tags are again chipboard from The Artistic Stamper. I used various stamps again, stamped in black ink. I then used distress inks and an ink blending tool to colour the tags. I then added some fibres to the tags and they were finished.

Pyramid Book

On Saturday I went on a workshop arranged by Cath from Katy's Corner and I had a great time :-)

This is the pyramid book I made on the workshop - I have to admit that it still isn't quite finished as I've not completed the front cover yet - the covers are on, but I need to put something on the front.

I love this shape of book and can see me making more very soon. I used four pieces of 6" x 6" scrapbook paper to make the inside of the book (2 sheets of 2 designs). I used various stamps and inks, and embellished it using slide mounts, buttons, brads and tags.

This weeks challenge on Caardvarks is to make something with scoring.

In my pocket there is a leaf

This weeks challenge over on Hels blog is to make a pocket with leaves inside and also to use rich Autumnal colours.

I used distress inks on the outside of my pocket and the front of the flap I put a couple of mulberry paper leaves and then mounted a picture which I got off the internet. Inside my pocket I used Crafty Individuals papers. Inside the flap I used another picture off the internet, again mounted onto some leaves. The main part of my pocket has a photo which my OH took of a tree with lovely orange leaves - I mounted the photo onto some gold card and added it to my pocket. I stamped the word Leaf and added a couple of punched out leaves. To finish it off I added a photo turn so the pocket could be closed.

No Crafting Today

Well I haven't managed to do any crafting at all today, but I did call in a local craft shop. To my amazement they had some Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous stamps in a bargain basket at 60% off. Well it would have been rude not have bought some :-) I managed to get approx £68 worth of stamps for £27 - not bad I thought. I may have to go back again and get some more when OH isn't with me LOL These are what I got. Just need to use them now - or are they too nice to use?

My Final Houses

At last I've finished all ten of my houses for a swap I'm involved in. These are the final three, so they are all ready to be put in Royal Mail's hands tomorrow.

For the left house I used some Tim Holtz/Stampers Annonymous stamps, the bird and the flowers. The background is inked using distress ink and the roof and chimney is some scrapbook paper which I cut out to fit the house. I stamped a Paper Artsy stamp onto a piece of the scrapbook paper and cut out the image to make the zig zagged edge.

The middle house is covered using some DCWV papers and the image of the children is one I downloaded from the web, and I added a hint of pink to the image with distress inks. I added a HOTP ribbon word "share" and a little faux postage stamp with a heart.

The right hand house is again covered with DCWV papers and another piece of the scrapbook paper for the roof and chimney. The doorway image is printed from the pc and the little key and saying is a rub on.

Some Exciting News

Well today I have had some great news and I'm really excited. I've been chosen to join the Design Team for One Stop Card Crafts. I've been jumping around the house all afternoon since I found out.

This small canvas I altered for a forum friend as part of a "Me to you" swap I'm involved in. I used acrylic paints, chipboard letters, stamps and distress inks. It was hard to get a photo showing the true colour, it is much lighter in "real life".

I came across another challenge blog today whilst blog hopping - Theme Thursday. This weeks challenge is to make a 4" x 4" page using the theme of friends.

For my page, I firstly stamped a paperbag studio stamp onto white cardstock using black ink. I then masked the image off and used a brayer and a brilliance three colour ink pad to make my background. I added the words best friends and coloured the stamped image using distress ink pads.

My First House

This is the first house I've made. It is for a swap I've joined and I have to make a total of 10 houses.

I used thick white card and cut out the house shape. I then used distress inks and gold glimmer mist and the stamps I have used are from Paper Artsy.

Inky Pocket

Today I have made a pocket for Hels in my pocket challenge. The challenge this week is to have a bottle cap hidden inside your pocket.

I used a thick white piece of card and cut it following the instructions on Hels blog. I used various stamps and adirondack & distress inks and of course a bottle cap into which I put a fabric flower with gem centre.

I'm quite pleased with the way my pocket turned out as I used only inks and stamps (no papers or extra card), and I used the masking technique a couple of times too.

Basic Grey ATC

Whilst blog hopping I came across a new challenge site which is based around using Basic Grey products. Unfortunately I missed the 1st weeks challenge, but I have joined in with the 2nd challenge, which is to make an ATC. The challenge blog can be found here.

For my ATC I used Basic Grey aged & confused paper from the sublime collection as a base for my ATC. I then stamped the girl photo art collage stamp (I Brake For Stamps) using versamark green ink directly onto the BG paper. I used various other word/saying stamps, again using green ink and then cut out the words I wanted to use. I tripple embossed the saying believe in your dreams (Cats Life Press). The other words I used 3d gloss on to make them stand out.

All Grown Up

My husband took one of our sons out today and brought him home in a brand new t-shirt/top. The reason for this is probably clear when you look at the photo of Joshua - my OH didn't take any wipes or tissues with him, so when Joshua finished his ice-cream, daddy used his top to clean him up LOL.

Bright and Beautiful

This card I made for the Cute Card Thursday challenge, which this week is to use bright colours on your card. I also used this weeks sketch from the Papertake Weekly challenge - so one card, two challenges.

I had fun making this card as I don't normally use such bright colours. The stamped image is another Alota Stamp, stamped using black stazon and coloured using Marvey Le Plume pens.

Buzzing By

I received my new Alota Rubber Stamps from the USA and just had to use some of them straight away. This stamp I just had to buy as I thought it was so cute and could be used for many occasions - it is quite a large stamp too, approx 3 3/4" x 4 1/2".

I stamped the image onto some white card using black archival ink and coloured the design using prismacolour pencils blending with sansador. I used a blue distress ink and lightly swirled some ink around the image to create a sky look. The dp I used on this card is from Sweet Shoppe Designs and the sentiment I printed from my pc and again coloured with blue distress ink. To finish the card off I added a paper flower from a K & Co "make a flower" pad and a light blue ribbon from my stash.

Little Froglet

This is another card using my new stamps from Alota Stamps. I just thought this was a very fun stamp set. The main image is another large stamp and measures approx 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"

I stamped the main image using black archival ink onto white card and coloured using Prismacolour pencils, blended with sansador. I edged around the image using a light green distress ink. The sentiment I stamped in the same way onto white card and coloured using distress ink. The papers are from my stash and I simply added a paper flower from K & Co "make a flower" pad - the flower looks much nicer and more 3d in the "flesh"

Christmas Tilda

I only managed to make one card today and it is another Christmas card.

This card is for the Tilda & Co weekly challenge and this weeks challenge is "As cold as ice" and you have to make something using only blue and white and of course your project must include a Magnolia stamp.

I coloured my Tilda using prismacolour pencils, blended using sansador. I used a little glamour dust (very fine glitter) for her wings, but it doesn't show up too well in the photo. I used my cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and embossed some pearlescent blue card and also some white glittery card. I cut both of these to the same size and matted them onto some navy blue bazzil card. The Winter Wonderland is a clear stamp (sorry don't know who by), I stamped onto white card using blue versafine ink pad and then chalked over it with pearlescent blue chalk and then I matted this onto navy bazzil card. The two embellishments I added are from Papermania.

A Very Crafty Day - 3 different Challenges

Well today I have made three cards, which I must say is really good for me!

This first card I made using a great sketch which Claudia put on her blog - Pretty Pressings. If you haven't visited Claudia's blog, you really must as her cards are so beautiful.

For this card I used brown bazzil cardstock for my base card and made a 6" square card. The papers I have used are from K & Co and the lovely cowboy/girl stamp is from Alota Rubber Stamps. I only have this one Alota stamp, but I love it so much I've ordered the Western set and a few others from Helene at Alota stamps. I used my cuttlebug swirls embossing folder on the pink cardstock. The button flower, ribbon and ribbon slider are from my stash.

I decided it was about time I made a start on Christmas cards and this sketch was the ideal opportunity to do so. The papers I used are by Hot Off The Press, the stamped image is Scribble by Funstamps. The brads, snowflake stickers, white fibres and little joy tag are from my stash.

Penny Black Challenge

This is another first for me, joining in with the Penny Black Saturday challenge. This week is a sketch and you must use at least one Penny Black stamp on your card.

I stamped the PB stamp onto white card and coloured it using prismacolour pencils. The "just a note" stamp is from Studio G and the little red flowers and gold brads are from my stash.

In My Pocket .....

This weeks challenge on Hels blog is "in my pocket there is a postage stamp". Well I've not done the "in my pocket" challenge for a few weeks so I wanted to take part this week. I found this one so hard to do and didn't really have any suitable embellishments etc.

Anyway I covered the front flap of my pocket with Basic Grey paper and stamped an old car (Cats Life Press stamp) onto it using distress ink. For the inside I stamped the diamond backgroud stamp on the inside of the flap and then a loopy calligraphy stamp (Lost Coast Designs). I then added a couple of die cut stamps and to finish it off and also to help keep it closed I used a suitcase eyelet.

Sarah Kay - Week 6

This week over on the Sarah Kay Challenge Blog is a sketch. I really enjoyed making this card and feel like I'm getting back into making cards again.

I dusted off my Craft Robo and used it to cut out my scalloped oval and also the large scalloped rectangle. The papers I used are from DCWV and the blue flower is a Bazzil Bling with a small prima on top. I stamped my image using black stazon and coloured most of the image with prismacolour pencils and the the flowers I water-coloured using sakura gel glitter pens. I then used some distress inks to do the grass and sky.

Christmas Is Coming - Tilda & Co

This weeks challenge on Magnolia Challenge blog is to make a Christmas card and you have to use at least one Magnolia stamp. This card was really quick to make, but I do like the finished card. I don't have a Christmas Magnolia stamp, so I plumped for this Tilda image which one of my SBS sisters sent me (Fairymadjo) a while ago. I watercoloured the image using sakura gel glitter pens and it has a lovely shimmer to it. I then simply layered the image onto some green and red card. The paper I used on this card is from Papermania and to finish it off I just added some ribbon.

Yoo Hoo! - Sketch Saturday #11

This card I made for the Sketch Saturday challenge blog. I used cream cardstock for my main card and the various papers and card from my stash. The owl is a download from Pink Petticoat and I coloured it using primacolour pencils. The little flowers are fabric and have little gem centres and these were from C&C.

Cowboy Billy

This card I made for the Friday Sketchers Challenge #14. The stamped image I used is an "Alota" rubber stamp called Cowboy Billy. I stamped using black stazon and coloured the image using prismacolour pencils. I added some ribbon from my stash and an arful collage flower was attached using a large gold brad. The dp was some from my stash and I attached it to my card leaving a small border of the card showing. I stamped the happy birthday and coloured it using chalks.

Sarah Kay Challenge - Week 5

This is another first for me - first time of joining in the Sarah Kay blog challenge. This weeks challenge is to use 3 buttons and 3 jewels on your card.

I used an A5 card blank and covered the front with some K & Co scrapbook paper. I coloured in my Sarah Kay image with my prismacolour pencils and added 3 blue gems/jewels. I matted the image onto different shades of blue card and then mounted it onto my card. I stamped three Stitchels flowers onto pearlescent card using blue ink and then cut them out. I put white buttons in the centres of the blue flowers and a light blue button in the centre of the white flower. I added some ribbon across the lower half of the card and then placed the cut out flowers onto my card using foam pads.

Tilda & Co Challenge 30

This is my first time of taking part in the Tilda & Co challenge and this weeks challenge is a sketch.

I thought I would try using some different colours for my card than what I usually use and I'm not too sure about this card - I think it needs something else, but not sure what. I used a 5 1/2" square card and then matted some double sided scrapbook paper which is attached using little brown brads. I coloured Edwin with my prismacolor pencils and mounted him using foam pads onto some Basic Grey paper and mounted that onto some copper pearlescent card.

Sorry I've been AWOL

Firstly, I just wanted to say sorry to anyone who has popped over during the past month as I haven't posted anything. I've not been too well and then had some other things goining on - but hopefully I'm back again now :-)

It's been a month since I last crafted and these are two simple cards I made to try and get back into crafting. For both of these cards I used papers and cards from my stash and stamped images which friends had sent me (thank you Bee and Andrea). Both of the images were coloured using my new prismacolor pencils and then simply matted and layered. The flowers are from a range of stamps which are available from The Artistic Stamper and are called Stitchels.

Coining It In

This weeks In My Pocket Challenge over on Hels blog is "Coining it in". For this weeks challenge you have to use a coin in your pocket. I had a few thoughts for this challenge and I came up with the idea of the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence.

I used Crafty Individuals music papers on the outside of the front flap and also on the inside of the pocket. I stamped a Paper Artsy stamp onto a piece of card and then coloured it in using watercolour pencils - I then went around the edge of the image with a gold krylon pen. I stamped a Cats Life crown stamp in gold and cut it out and put it onto the boy's head. I mounted this image onto the front flap.

For the inside of the pocket flap I used distress inks to colour a piece of white card and then when this was dry I printed the start of "Sing a song of sixpence" onto it. I then mounted it onto a piece of black card.

For the inside of the pocket, I stamped the bird from Stitchels stamps set directly onto the music paper and then stamped it again onto some vellum. I coloured the bird with a black watercolour pencil and then cut it out and popped it on top of the stamped one. The pie is a clip art which I printed, cut out and then coloured with watercolour pencils. As the sixpence piece has been out of circulation for many years, I improvised and used a 5 pence coin.

Think Pink

Another Tilda card from me today. Tilda was stamped onto white card and I watercoloured her. I used a square cream card for the main card and covered it with some scrapbook paper. I matted and layered pink, brown and pink dotty papers and then matted Tilda onto some brown, pink and brown papers/card. The sentiment is stamped and the deep pink flower is stamped onto vellum and then coloured with acrylic paint and it's attached to the card with a little pink heart brad.

The challenge on Caardvarks this week is "Think Pink".

This Old Heart Of Mine - SS Week 23

The Sunday Stampers challenge this week is "Hearts"

I used a lovely golden brown shiney card for my base card and I covered 3/4 of the front with some scrapbook paper. I then took some calligraphy paper and tore the bottom edge. I then stamped a floral stamp onto the left hand side of the card using black ink and I stamped a crackle background and heat embossed it using gold powder. I then stamped a heart stamp onto gold card using stazon and cut it out. To finish off I used a sizzix key, cut out of black card and then I stamped the sentiment onto white card and sprayed it with a little glimmer mist in gold. A final touch was to use a piece of black grosgrain ribbon and cover up the work "key" in the sentiment and I stamped it again onto white card and mounted it onto the ribbon.

Tilda Says Thank You

One of my crafting friends sent me a couple of Tilda stamps as I must have been one of only a few crafters who didn't own any.

My base card is cream and I used various scrapbook papers and I followed the sketch over on ISMAKI challenge blog. I stamped Tilda onto some cream card and I paper pieced her top, trousers and shoes. I watercoloured her hair, face and hands using Sakura glitter gel pens and I used some glamour dust (fine glitter) for her wings.

The Papertake Weekly challenge is Thanks a Latte and basically you had to make a thank you card.

Triplets

I am so behind with birthdays, so I made three cards the same, just in different colourways.

For all three cards I firstly embossed a piece of card with the Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Birds and Swirls. I then used some brand new stamps made by Hels, (Stitchels) which will be available to buy from the Artistic Stamper very soon. I used black archival ink and stamped out 3 birds, 3 flowers and 3 butterflies and then I water-coloured them with Sakura glitter pens to co-ordinate with the papers and cardstock I used. I cut some backing paper slightly smaller than the cardstock and then mounted the embossed card onto this. Whilst cutting out the birds and butterflies, the birds lost their feet and the butterflies lost there antennae so I inked those bits up again and stamped them directly onto the embossed panel and then added the birds and butterflies. I attached the flower using silicone to give it a little depth. The sentiments are rub ons which I put onto a piece of backing paper and mounted onto mirror card.

Unfortunately, the photo's do not show the glitter and also the cards are much lighter than the photo's show, more of a pastel colour.

Tags in Distress

I made these tags for a swap I'm involved in. This months theme is distressed - I don't know about distressed, I think they look like they've been down a coal mine LOL.

I used distress ink pads to colour the tags and then stamped Cats Life Press stamps onto them using black archival ink.

Buttons - In My Pocket

My crafting friend Hels has come up with another great challenge which is to make a pocket card with a hidden item. This weeks hidden item is buttons.

I used the template which is on Hels blog and cut out my pocket shape from card. I covered it with various papers. On the top flap of the pocket I stamped one of Tim Holtz stamps (Listen to your heart). I then added a glittered butterfly (papermania).

For the inside of the pocket I stamped a small bird in black ink. I then masked this off and stamped the dried flowers stamp randomly over the bottom half of the pocket using a green ink pad. On the top half of the pocket/ the inside of the flap I stamped three little flower stems and then added a little button to each as the flower head.

To keep the pocket closed, I used a silver heart shaped clip and I thought this would go nicely with the front sentiment.

SS Week 22 - Friends

This weeks Sunday Stampers challenge over on Hels blog is "Friends" so I made an ATC :-)

I cut a piece of cardstock to measure 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and then I stamped the Hero Arts Friends stamp using black archival ink. When the ink was dry I set about it with some distress inks and using cut n dry foam I coloured the stamped image.

To add a little depth to the ATC I used some Crystal Lacquers - unfortunately these don't show up too well in the picture.

Another Clipboard

This clipboard I altered for my friend Hels, for her Birthday.

I covered the front of the clipboard with distress crackle paint and then used a gold krylon pen around the edges.

I took a thin piece of card and covered the top half with some DCWV paper and the bottom half I covered in K & Co paper. I took some chipboard letters and covered them with broken china distress embossing powder and then I triple embossed them using clear UTEE. I took a beer bottle top and squashed it using my wizard and I coloured the inside of it gold using my krylon pen and then added a blue fabric flower. I attached the letters and beer top onto the top half of the clipboard.

For the bottom half I firstly stamped one of my new Tuscan Rose trellis stamps using versamark ink and then put gold embossing powder on and heated it. I took a blue brad and covered it with broken china distress embossing powder and heated it, I then added this to the centre of the stamped flower. I then edged a chipboard piece with gold krylon pen and added a blue dragonfly brad and then attached this to the clipboard.

Boney Birthday

I made a couple of quick cards using the Crafters Companion Boys CD. This card I printed out the dinosaur backing paper and mounted it onto a cream A5 card, leaving a small edge around the card. Roaring Birthday

Simple Father's Day Cards

These three cards were made from graphics bought from DAISIE. I simply printed them out and cut out the elements and decoupaged them. So very easy cards to make and also my 3 year old son helped out.

A Mini Canvas

This canvas is 4" x 4", so quite a small area to work on compared to the other canvas's I've done. I started by covering the whole of the front of the canvas with Marigold Distress Crackle Paint. When this was dry I stamped the bird directly onto the canvas using jet black archival ink. I then masked the bird and randomly stamped the flower/tree stamp using distress ink and then I embossed it using clear powder. Finally I used a gold krylon pen to edge the canvas. All the stamps used on this are Tim Holtz / Stampers Annonymous.

Birthday Card

This card I made for one of my friends birthdays. The blue backing paper is K & Co, which I mounted onto cream card. The stamped image is a Tuscan Rose stamp, which I stamped a couple twice onto white card. I cut out the full image and then cut out the top butterfly and the framed square so I could 3d them. I coloured the stamped image using various distress inks and the butterfly and frame sqaure I coloured with distress inks and then used a versamark ink pad and clear UTEE to give them a nice glossy finish. I attached the butterfly and square onto the card using foam pads. I then stamped Happy Birthday onto the card, but I don't think it really goes too well with the overall card.

A Couple of Altered Things

These two items I made for Ann as part of a Me to You swap which I'm involved in. The first thing is a small Bind It All Notebook. I used two pieces of mountboard to make the covers and I used some lined paper for the inner pages. I stamped the sentiment first and then masked it and then stamped the flowers/trees. I coloured the cover using distress inks.

The next thing I made is an altered clipboard - this is the first time I've ever done one of these and I think it turned out okay for a first attempt. I painted the clipboard using Marigold Crackle Paint and then left it to dry. I used two pieces of DCWV papers, one from the Once Upon a Time stack and the other from the Oriental stack. I stuck the two papers onto a thin piece of card and then I added a ribbon with a faux buckle to cover where the papers joined. I then took three chipboard letters and tripple embossed them using gold UTEE. I used my Craft Robo to cut out two circles one with Things to remember printed on to it. I then coloured the circles using shimmer chalks and then I triple embossed them using clear UTEE. I added a small orange prima flower using a brad to attach it to the circles and to the main piece. I then used two of the new collage Prima flowers and again attached these using brads with gem centres. I added a small 3d orange and yellow flower (crafty bitz) As a finishing touch, I used a little glossy accents over the fairy in the right corner and then added ribbons and fibres to the top of the clipboard.

This weeks challenge over on Funky Fairys Blog is "dominated by threes" so as I used 3 prima flowers, 3 brads and 3 letters I thought the clipboard would be ideal to enter.

Sympathy Card

This is another card I made yesterday and I find it really difficult to make sympathy cards and I don't want to overdo the embellishing, so I kept it nice and simple.

I used a cream pearlescent pre-embossed card blank and I used a rub on for the main image. I put it onto cream card and then matted it onto gold mirror card. The sentiment is a peel off, which again I put onto cream card and then matted it onto gold mirror card.

Vintage Birthday Card

This is another card I have made today. The colours on the image aren't really that bright.

I used another of my new Tuscan Rose stamps for this card and stamped it using sepia versafine ink onto white cardstock. I used distress inks to colour the stamped image and highlighted the stop watch using glossy accents. I mounted the image onto gold mirror card and then onto white card. I edged the white card with gold ink. The backing paper I used is from one of my DCWV stacks and I put this onto my white card blank, leaving just a little of the white around the edge. For the sentiment I used a gold peel-off (well I've got tons of them and need to use them up!). I put the peel-off onto a piece of the DCWV paper and then mounted it onto white card and then gold mirror card. Just to finish the card off I went around the main card with my gold ink pad.

Lost in France - SS Week 20

Well what lovely weather we have today, the sun is out and I've been crafting :-)

This card I made for the Hels Sunday Stampers Challenge "This week the challenge theme is France. As usual, the challenge is to use stamps, inks, paints, mixed media etc to make your creation, be it a card, ATC, Scrapbook page...the choice is yours".

I used one of my new Tuscan Rose stamps and stamped using black versafine ink onto white card. I then coloured the image using distress inks and cut n dry foam. I stamped the word PARIS again and cut it out and covered it with 3d gloss. I then stamped the quote, which again is a Tuscan Rose stamp and coloured it using distress ink. I then mounted the stamped images onto gold mirror card. I used a piece of scrapbook paper, which I edged with gold ink and then mounted it onto the white card. I added the two stamped images and then used a large gold brad to attach a prima artful collage flower to the card.

As this weeks challenge on Daring Cardmakers is to use a quote on your card, then hopefully this card will qualify for that challenge also :-)

Also, this weeks challenge on My Time To Craft is to use brads or eyelets on your card, so I'm going to sneek this one in :-)

Card with matching Canvas

I made a card with matching canvas for my Mother in Laws Birthday, which is today. The card blank is one I got from Create and Craft, it is white with gold foiling and a lovely green printed pattern. I just stamped the Crafty Individuals four birds stamp onto white card and then used some distress inks to give it a little colour. I then mounted the image onto some gold mirror card and centred it onto the card.

For the canvas I used distress re-inkers to colour the canvas and then cut some 1 1/2" squares out of mount board. I stamped various Crafty Individuals stamps onto the mountboard squares and also onto some vellum and cut the vellum ones out and used silicone to attach them - thus giving them some depth. Also, some of the mountboard squares are just covered with Crafty Individuals paper and again the butterfly's are 3d. The centre square is approx 3" square and I stamped the Crafty Individual four birds stamp onto the mountboard and coloured using distress inks.

This weeks challenge on Stamp Something Blog is "in the wild" so I hope these will be okay.

This card I made for Sunday Stampers which theme this week is dogs. I don't have any dog stamps, but I received some stamped images from a forum friend and these dogs were in with them :-)

Not a very inky messy card though. I printed the blue, paw print paper and the stamped dogs I coloured with watercolour pencils and then used some distress inks to colour the background on the stamped image.

Yet Another Altered Frame

I made this for a friends birthday. I used vairous alcohol inks on aliminium foil tape to cover the wooden frame. I then added a few flowers and used some glitter glue for the centres. The main image I used is a Crafty Individuals stamp which I stamped onto an alcohol inked background and then sprayed a little glimmer mist over it.

Quick Birthday Card

My husband asked me to make a card this morning for one of his photography friends whose birthday is today. He wanted it to have something to do with cameras. I printed some photo's which hubby had taken of flowers and put them behind a die cut film strip. The DL card I used is silver foiled and has a very pastel print, which doesn't show up in the photo. I really don't like making mens cards as I find them so difficult to do.

I've just noticed that this weeks challenge on Papertake Weekly is to make a man's card - so it's not a traditional man's card, but hopefull it will be okay.

Dreaming of Paris

This card I made using the sketch on My Paper World. I stamped the main image onto white cardstock and then coloured it using various distress inks. I then layered this onto yellow then red card and then mounted it onto some script scrapbook paper. I then stappled a piece of ribbon to the image and stamped Just a note onto a small oval of white card and coloured it again using distress ink. The main card I used is a square white card.

White Wedding

This weeks challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe is to create a wedding themed project.
This weeks challenge on Funky Fairy's is to make something using no backing papers - so a double whammy card :-)

My card base is a large square white linen card. I stamped the bride and groom stamp onto white card and added silver embossing powder and then cut them out. I stamped it again on a piece of thick vellum and cut out the top part of the brides dress and added some glamour dust (very fine glitter) - I then popped this on top of the main image and then attached it to the card using sticky pads to give it some depth. The Bride and Groom sentiment was stamped in silver ink onto white linen card and matted onto silver mirror card. The two little hearts are cut from silver card and again attached using foam pads. I finally added some gorgeous white ribbon down the left hand side of the card.

My first canvas

This is my latest project, an altered stretched canvas. It is approx 8" x 8" in size and I used distress inks and gold glimmer mist to colour the background/canvas. I then cut up some mountboard into 1 1/2" squares and coloured some of them using distress inks and then I stamped various Crafty Individual stamps onto them. I triple embossed these to give them a nice glossy finish.

Some of the other squares, I covered using Crafty Individuals paper and stamped butterlies onto thick vellum and cut them out and attached them using silicone so they are 3d. The middle piece of mountboard with the saying on is approx. 3" square and again I used distress inks to colour it and I used one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamps. Again I then triple embossed this to give it a nice glossy finish. Unfortunately the glimmer mist on the background and the glossy squares don't really show up in the photo.

Get well card

This card I made for a friend and I used the challenge sketch on ISMAKI.

I used a lilac square card for the base of the card and added some Crafty Individuals paper, leaving a small edge around the card. I then cut a diamond of lilac cardstock and added two layers of different lilac papers. The main flower is one I made on one of my Keepsake boards, I embossed the flowers and cut them out, and secured it using a purple brad. On the top flower I added a silver peel-off and I used some silicone glue to raise the flower slightly from the background. The card still looked a little bare, so I added some silver peel offs (get well soon and thinking of you).

Di Hickman Sketch Card

This is another card I made yesterday and it is for Di Hickmans Sketch Challenge. I used lilac cardstock and added some scrapbook paper to the bottom half of the card with a strip of lilac card on top and I added a couple of little flowers. The stamped flower is a DMD stamp and I stamped it using black ink onto lilac card and then layered it onto some pearlescent lilac card (unfortunately it looks more blue in the photo). The "thank you" stamp is a Studio G stamp.

Again, not a great photo as it was taken in poor light - but I will try and get a better photo later today.

A Challenge Sketch Card & CMUtd

I made this card using the sketch from ISMAKI challenge blog.

I used a cream square card and scalloped the edges on the three sides of the card. I cut a large square of copper card and put some Crafty Individulas paper onto it and put this on the card. I added some peach ribbon across the middle of the card and I then brayered a background onto white card and then stamped the Crafty Individuals flower stamp onto it and cut it out. I layered this onto copper card and then onto some DCWV paper.

This card also qualifies for this weeks Challenge on CMUtd Challenge Place, which this weeks theme is to use flowers on your card.

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the true colours of this - I will try and get a better picture later today

Whilst blog hopping the other day I came across http://sheetload.blogspot.com/. Each month they release a free ezine which you can download in pdf format. Go on, pop over there and have a look. For this month, May they are giving away Bella's and other things too.

Here are a couple of cards I made using this May issue - as I don't have any Bella's I've used a Cuddly Buddly stamp and a Magnolia tilda. I used Glossy blue cardstock for the main card and then used cream card, DCVW paper, yellow cardstock and white card onto which I stamped and then watercoloured the images. I've also left off the sentiment (from the bottom of the card) until I know what I'm using these for.

Birthday Book Envelope

This is a C6 envelope which I decorated for the Craft Swap Forum Birthday books. I used a brilliance ink pad and a brayer to cover the envelope with ink and spritzed it with some gold glimmer mist. I then used my new Laura Ashley stamp on the envelope. The insert, again I brayered and then I used a crafty individuals stamp on it and a small bloom stamp which I think is a Docraft one.

This is my 4th attempt at doing my envelope and as the deadline is Wednesday, I really need to post it.

Two Cards - One Challenge

I needed to make a couple of cards to send off to a few friends, so I based both of these on Nicola's sketch over on My Paper World.

The first card I used some scrapbook paper from my stash and the little bee image is from pink petticoat - I printed it out and then watercoloured it and added some glitter to it's wings. The gem flowers are crafty bitz embellishments.

The second card I used some lovely papers and a stamp from Crafty Individuals. The four birds are stamped onto an alcohol inked background. The little "for you" which I also stamped was part of a PIF I received from one of my SBS-13 sisters, Richelle. I then punched a couple of little flowers and attached them using brads.

Well I don't know if you remember me posting a while ago that my daughter Michelle got a job with British Airways. She has now completed her Cabin Crew (Air Hostess) Training and is waiting for her Air-Side pass to come through and then she can start flying.

A Couple of Altered CD's

These are CD's I altered as little gifts for a couple of my crafting friends who's birthdays are both today.

I used alcohol inks on one side of the cd and then stamped my Paper Artsy swirls stamp randomly over the cd using black ink. I then used a couple of stamps I got from "I brake for stamps" and stamped using black ink onto blue paper and then mounted the images onto the cd. The other side of the CD's I've covered with scrapbook paper and then I used some K & Co stickers to decorate them.

Serendipity Card for Gia

This is a card I made and sent to one of my SBS friends, Gia. I used a lilac square card for my base card. I took some of my little scraps of patterned paper and tore them all into small pieces and stuck them onto an off cut of card.

I then used one of my Paper Artsy stamps and a versamark ink pad and stamped all over the papers. I added gold embossing powder and heated it. I then cut it up into squares and mounted them onto some black and then gold mirror card squares. I took a piece of cream card and stuck these onto it and then mounted the whole thing onto some gold glitter card. I then simply added a pink flower using a little purple brad. This is a great way for using up all the little scraps us crafters love to keep :-)

A Qucik Hello

Just thought I'd best make a post as it's been some time since I added to my blog. I have been quite busy the past week or so as we went away for a few days to the Lake District. We have also had two new sheds arrived this week, so we've been busy sorting the back garden out and lots of levelling for the sheds to go on. We have finally finished putting the sheds together, just a few last touches to do now.

I hope to be back posting regularly very soon. I have made a couple of Birthday cards today for some friends, but can't post them until after they have been received.

From Me To You

These two items I made for a swap I'm involved in, each month we have to make something "altered" and mail it to the next person on the list. Well this month I had to make and send to Nicky - Nicky does some really beautiful altered pieces so I was a bit worried about what to make.
This first item is an old CD which I altered. I cut the cd shape out of some lilac paper which was out a kit I got ages ago from QVC. I stamped the little girl onto the paper and then added distress embossing powder and heated it. I then added the letters onto the top of the cd - these again are from a QVC kit. I then stuck this paper onto the front of the cd.

For the back of the cd I used my alcohol inks to cover it and then when it was totally dry, I used some Squiggly Inc stamps from Paper Artsy and randomly stamped the swirl pattern. I took a piece of glossy card stock and my cranberry and wild plum alcohol inks and inked up the glossy cardstock. I then stamped another little girl using stazon ink onto the alcohol inked background, I rounded the corners and then simply added a little flower using a brad to fix it in place . Both of the little girl stamps are from Paperbag Studio's and are from the Dreamer set.

This is my very first altered cd and I am quite pleased with the end result and can see me doing lots more of these.

The next item I made for Nicky is a little tag booklet with small concertina pouches inside. This project was in the Craft Stamper magazine and I just had to have a go at it. I must say mine didn't turn out as I wanted / thought it would - but it was my first time, so maybe I will have another go sometime in the future.

I cut the tag booklet template out of some card which already has a sort of bluey mottled effect to it and then I used a little distressed ink on it. I decorated this using Cat's Life Press stamps and rusty brown stazon ink.

For the concertina flaps inside, I made 5 little folders/pockets from the same mottled cardstock and then used some green distress inks and gold glimmer mist to colour them. I used some chipboard letters which I covered in distress ink and then I triple embossed them - spelling out NICKY. I attached these onto the front of the little folders. For the inside of the little folders I cut some white cardstock into squares and used blue distress ink to colour them. I used various Cats Life Press stamps, mainly pictures on the front and words/quotes on the back.

Dotty About Tags

I have managed to make a tag today for the Weekend Taggers challenge. This week challenge is to use Polka Dots on your tag.

I covered the front of my tag with white and pink dotty paper. I stamped the Paperbag Studios little girl stamp onto some pink paper using black stazon ink and then cut her out. I added some pink gems onto the centres of the flowers on the little girl stamp and then mounted it onto the tag. I stamped "dream a little dream" onto some white vellum, again using a black stazon ink pad and I attached this to some floral ribbon and then placed it onto the tag towards the bottom. The tag looked a little bare at the top, so I added a little butterfly an a flower. I then added a white eyelet to the tag and will add some pink fibres when I get some.

All Stitched Up

Something a little different from me today, no stamping, inks or mess. This is the very first stitching card I have done. The template / pattern I bought from Stitching Cards Com.

For the main card, I used a white A5 sized card and dry embossed a design at the top and bottom of the card using my shapeboss. I then used a piece of white card and pricked the holes in the correct place and then stitched using metallic threads. When the stitching was done I layered it onto some copper mirror card and then added it to the A5 card.

This card first in nicely with My Time To Craft challenge, which this week is "In Stitches"

Tag Your It

Whilst blog hopping this morning I came across a new challenge blog Weekend Taggers. The first challenge is "shades of blue".

I cut my card to 6" x 3" and cut the corners off the top to make a tag shape. I used my distress ink pads (broken china and weathered wood) to create the background. I then used one of my Paperbag Studio stamps and stamped it using a versamark ink pad and then sprinkled the image with broken china distress embossing powder and heat set it. I then added a blue button flower in the girls hair and put some blue ribbon across the tag close to the bottom and added a shiny gem flower with a blue centre. Finally I added a blue eyelet and some blue fibres.

Sunday Stampers - Week 11

Hels set this weeks Sunday Stampers challenge which this week is "Travel/Journey/ Transport. Basically, you can use any kind of stamp that features a mode of transport in or on which you could make a journey! This could be a train, car, hot air balloon, flying, sailing, biking or even rollerskating!!" Well I don't have any transport stamps so had to have a good think about this one .... I came up with this card as I figured that walking is a form of transport - hope this is okay.

I used my alcohol inks to make my background onto which I stamped my image. I used latte, ginger and caramel alcohol inks and then added just a touch of demin and then dabbed with a bit of ink out of my gold krylon pen. Once I was happy with the look of my background I spritzed it with some gold glimmer mist. I then stamped the Papgerbag Studio's stamp onto the background using an adirondack black ink pad. I then layered the image onto some green card, gold card and then some cream card and finally mounted this onto a light green A6 card. I added a little grungeboard heart which I coloured in gold using my krylon pen.

My First Skinny

This is the first Skinny I have made. For those who don't know what a Skinny is, it is simular to an ATC but the size has to be 3" wide x 5" tall. As with an ATC, you can decorate / embellish it how you like.

I cut my card to size and covered it with a swirly background paper. I stamped my little fairy (lLost Coast Designs) stamp onto white card using stazon black ink and then layered this onto some black card. I used my "Dream a little dream" stamp and just stamped the Dream onto white card and layeed it onto black card to match the main image. I then added 2 papermania black buttons and a papermania flower attached with a black brad.

Long Tall Sally

This is a bookmark I made for this weeks challenge on Funky Fairies blog - which was "I want you to make something tall and skinny"

I used worn lipstick and tattered rose distress inks to make the background of the bookmark. I then used fired brick distress ink and stamped the swirl stamp (Paper Artsy) over the background and added fired brick distress embossing powder and heat set it. I then stamped the heart swirl and sentiment stamp onto some pink paper using a black ink pad and added clear embossing powder and heat set it. I tore the paper around the sentiment and I cut out the heart and mounted them both onto the bookmark. Finally I edged it with fired brick ink and added an eyelet and some pink fibres.

Birds of a feather

This card is not one of my better ones LOL. It is the first time I've tried blending inks to make a background and I think I need more practice at blending the colours together.

This card is for the challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe blog, which this weeks theme is to use Quotes or Sayings on your card. My quote says "Birds of a feather flock together". The bird stamp I used is a Tim Holtz stamp and the feathers stamp is from I brake for stamps.

Ismaki Challenge and My Time to Craft

This card I made using the sketch challenge on Ismaki

It also qualifies for last weeks challenge on My Time to Craft, which was Sparkle "Use shiney card, gems or glitter".

I used pink petticoat papers, some cuddly buddly papers and some bits of card from my stash. I stamped the Cuddly Buddly stamp, Charley onto white card and watercoloured it and then cut it out. I added 3 large flower gems, which are nice and sparkly and also a prima flower.

Beautiful Bird

I have been playing with some more of my new stamps today and I really love how this card has turned out.

I used an A5 card and covered it with some Pink Peticoat Designs paper. I put lilac ribbon down the left hand side and also across the card, close to the bottom and added a purple flower with a large brad. I used my alcohol inks to make the backgrounds for the images and I stamped them using black stazon ink. I layered the stamped images onto white card and then purple card, then added them to the main card.

Both of the stamps I used on this card I bought from I brake for stamps.
