Birds of a feather

This card is not one of my better ones LOL. It is the first time I've tried blending inks to make a background and I think I need more practice at blending the colours together.

This card is for the challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe blog, which this weeks theme is to use Quotes or Sayings on your card. My quote says "Birds of a feather flock together". The bird stamp I used is a Tim Holtz stamp and the feathers stamp is from I brake for stamps.

Hi Angie, I love your colours, and you've made a great job of teaming all these stamps up! Do you have the little ink applicator and felt pads in this range? If you apply a few drops of 2 or 3 different inks on a felt pad then twist and turn the applicator randomly all over your card (glossy works best for this technique, I can't see from your photo if that's what you've used!), this creates great effects too. The blending solution will spread the colours out for you too; and little gold dabs make a stunning addition! Of course that means you need to "invest" in lots of different things!! i think you've made a great first "go" - keep playing and you'll be amazed what you can do with this lot! bx
